Where the heck has 2019 gone?
I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’ve just gotten used to writing 2019 instead of 2018, and now we’re already at the end of the year. đ± Weird.
You might think that with so little remaining of the year there’d be only a couple of books I’m truly excited for, but you’d be wrong. As per usual, the fall is pretty packed with new releases, but I was surprised to see that even December has a decent amount of releases I’m hyped for.
Given how many amazing books are being published in the remainder of 2019 I was able to compile a list of 16 novels I’m truly hyped for. Mind you, this is not all the books I’m excited for, only my “most awaited” pile.
Now, without further ado, let’s jump into the post!

Sixteen-year-old Eva is a princess, born with the magick of marrow and blood–a dark and terrible magick that hasn’t been seen for generations in the vibrant but fractured country of Myre. Its last known practitioner was Queen Raina, who toppled the native khimaer royalty and massacred thousands, including her own sister, eight generations ago, thus beginning the Rival Heir tradition. Living in Raina’s long and dark shadow, Eva must now face her older sister, Isa, in a battle to the death if she hopes to ascend to the Ivory Throne–because in the Queendom of Myre only the strongest, most ruthless rulers survive.
When Eva is attacked by an assassin just weeks before the battle with her sister, she discovers there is more to the attempt on her life than meets the eye–and it isn’t just her sister who wants to see her dead. As tensions escalate, Eva is forced to turn to a fey instructor of mythic proportions and a mysterious and handsome khimaer prince for help in growing her magick into something to fear. Color Outside the Lines, edited by Sangu Mandanna
(Nov 12th)
This modern, groundbreaking YA anthology explores the complexity and beauty of interracial and LGBTQ+ relationships where differences are front and center.
“When people ask me what this anthology is about, Iâm often tempted to give them the complicated answer: itâs about race, and about how being different from the person you love can matter but how it can also not matter, and itâs about Chinese pirate ghosts, black girl vigilantes, colonial India, a flower festival, a garden of poisons, and so, so much else. Honestly, though? I think the answerâs much simpler than that. Color outside the Lines is a collection of stories about young, fierce, brilliantly hopeful people in love.” âSangu Mandanna, editor of Color outside the Lines

But now Vicky must marryâor find herself and her family destitute. Armed only with the wisdom she has gained from her beloved novels by Jane Austen, she enters societyâs treacherous season.
Sadly, Miss Austen has little to say about Vickyâs exact circumstances: whether the roguish Mr. Carmichael is indeed a scoundrel, if her former best friend, Tom Sherborne, is out for her dowry or for her heart, or even how to fend off the attentions of the foppish Mr. Silby, he of the unfortunate fashion sensibility.
Most unfortunately of all, Vickyâs books are silent on the topic of the mysterious accidents cropping up around herâŠones that could prevent her from surviving until her wedding day.
Heidi’s Guide to Four Letter Words by Tara Sivec and Andi Arndt
(Dec 3rd)
Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and thatâs how my podcast, Heidiâs Discount Erotica, was born.
Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life reading erotic novels to the listening world. And with each episode, I find myself embracing my new alter ego more and more. Now Iâm starting to feel more comfortable in my own skin and do things I never would have dreamed of – like kissing my neighbor.
Look out, Waconia, because Heidiâs on the loose! Sheâs in your ears, in your hearts, and down your pants…wait, that didnât sound as good as it did in my head. Well, you get the picture, donâtcha know!
Would Like to Meet by Rachel Winters
(Dec 3rd)
After seven years as an assistant, 29-year-old Evie Summers is ready to finally get the promotion she deserves. But now the TV and film agency she’s been running behind the scenes is in trouble, and Evie will lose her job unless she can convince the agency’s biggest and most arrogant client, Ezra Chester, to finish writing the script for a Hollywood romantic comedy.
The catch? Ezra is suffering from writer’s block–and he’ll only put pen to paper if singleton Evie can prove to him that you can fall in love like they do in the movies. With the future of the agency in jeopardy, Evie embarks on a mission to meet a man the way Sally met Harry or Hugh Grant met Julia Roberts.
But in the course of testing out the meet-cute scenes from classic romantic comedies IRL, not only will Evie encounter one humiliating situation after another, but she’ll have to confront the romantic past that soured her on love.
Let’s chat!
Are any of these books on your radar? Have you had the chance to read any of them as ARCs? What are your most awaited releases for the rest of 2019?
Also, quick question! Do you like the different colored backgrounds for the blurbs, or should I stick to one color for each in the future?

I’m very excited about Ninth House and Queen of Nothing, and superexcited about Call Down the Hawk (also very worried because I don’t want any of the characters to die /o\).
You’ve got a very cool list, I hadn’t heard about quite a few of those and they look interesting!

I still haven’t read Children of Blood and Bone but oml that cover for #2, it is giving me honestly all the feels.
Queen of Nothing is a book I NEED by almost two months ago, it seems so close but so far away! And I couldn’t help but think that the Bromance Club’s cover looks like the Sisterhood of Traveling Pants, and it looks so good!

I *love* the Children of Blood and Bone books’ covers. Same about Queen of Nothing – I have to admit I wasn’t 1000% feeling The Wicked King, BUT I want to know what happens next, and I want to see my girl Jude all vengeful. Haha, so true about The Bromance Book Club’s cover! I can’t wait for that book.

I’ve seen Ninth House everywhere, but I didn’t like the cover and I might have judged it by that (yes, I’m guilty lol!) and chosen not to learn more. But now that I’ve read the summary, I’m super intrigued and can’t wait to read it as well!! And I think everyone is waiting anxiously for The Queen of Nothing. I really really really hope it doesn’t disappoint!

Haha, I actually really like the cover, BUT judging a book by its cover is super-relatable. I’m so excited for it, because it’s apparently very dark, and dark books are everything. Queen of Nothing better not disappoint, we’d all be so devastated. đŠ

Also, I just added Tarnished Are the Stars to my TBR because it sounds like ti has steampunk vibes and also it’s queer?? I feel BETRAYED that no one has told me about this previously.
I am also looking forward to Queen of Nothing even though the series is only mediocre for me. I still want to see how everything ends.
My most anticipated release for the end of the year is Call Down the Hawk! RONAN AND ADAM TOGETHER AGAIN. I just hope my heart doesn’t shatter.

Honestly, I loved The Cruel Prince, but I was incredibly disappointed in The Wicked King, so I’m really worried about Queen of Nothing; hopefully, it won’t disappoint.
I’m tentatively interested in Call Down the Hawk – I love the characters and Raven Cycle, but I’m SCARED of what could happen to them in a whole new series.
